Topics include:
* It is now the last week of the campaign, and I am happy that we are coming to a close in this 2007 Mayoral campaign.
* Last Tuesday evening we had the final mayoral candidate forum at the Savannah Morning News auditorium, presented along with WSAV.
My opponents have nothing to run on, they only bring up issues that are irrelevant to governing the city of Savannah. I continue to talk about what we have already done and would like to continue to do, if you vote for Otis Johnson for mayor.
* Vote! Do not take anything for granted. We must avoid a run-off! We should not have to put up with this sort of campaigning any longer than is necessary.
Vote to insure a victory on November 6th. No run-off!
* There is a wide gap in the qualifications and philosophy of the candidates.

* We had plenty of events to attend this week. Our events ranged from enjoyable Greek food festivals to another event that was very sorrowful; the funeral of one of our young men that was taken from us too early.
* Here’s a book recommendation:
QBQ! The Question Behind the Question: Practicing Personal Accountability in Work and in Life.
* Mark your calendar: Oct 30th there is a Mayoral forum at the newspaper office on Chathem Parkway.
* Early voting will take place the week of October 29th.
I am encouraging all of you to do that and to spread the word.

It’s an easy process, there will be no lines and you can get it done. I’m hoping you can encourage your friends and relatives to do the same thing
Don’t wait until the last minute and miss an opportunity to choose the leadership of this community for the next four years.

Interactions have begun
October 9, 2007Our efforts to communicate by blog have not gone unnoticed.
![]()
So far we noticed that we have been noticed by:
“The Southeast News Leader” WTOC, in a story by Charles Gray, Executive Producer, New Media.
and The Creative Coast Initiative (TCCi) in their news section:
Mayor Otis Johnson Launches Blog
as well as a post on the blog of TCCi:
Dude, the Mayor has a Mac (and a blog).
It’s instructive to see how the language used to communicate becomes more and more informal as the news articles move from traditional media (WTOC), to the website (TCCI), then to the blog post (Dude!).
Did we miss any press?
[much later in the day] Whoops … We missed this one on our first pass but hope that we’ll remain involved with such players. Check ‘em out at The City Unfiltered’s SavannahNow, their main page.
Participate in this virtual community
October 2, 2007 We’re using this blog to reach out to you and I need your help.
Tell your friends and relatives about this blog so that we can begin to create a virtual community. It is important for me to establish this community because I think that as you ask other people to log on, you can engage in a conversation with them and they can join the conversation along with you and me. That is very important.

Democracy depends on an informed electorate.

The more you know about me as your chief elected official in Savannah, I think the more confidence you’ll have in what we are trying to do, and the more likely you’ll vote for me on November 6th, which is very important.
